This week’s lesson task we got to make a consumer profile for a fictional client. A profile like this is important for a buisness to focus on who exactly the people that uses their product is, so they can focus on that particular target group.
Many new buisnesses goes in the «everyone» trap when asked who their product is for. The reason «everyone» is not a good target group is simple, you cannot please everyone! With a smaler group you can focus more on the important pieces to make your product stand out from everyone else!
I chose Twitch as my consumer profile focus point. Twitch is a online streaming platform for gamers.
The reason i chose Twitch is becasue it’s the number one streaming platform right now for gamers and they have a few good competitors such as Facebook Gaming or YouTube Live. These are big mainstream platform for sosial media and started newly with focusing on streaming gaming.
The things that i think should be in a consumer profile:
- Who is the typical user?
- Age is an important factor when you want to find your target group
- What do they do?
- What do they do? working?School? do they have much freetime?
- What do they like?
- Do they like products in the same category? Is there something they like more than others?
- What do they hate?
- Finding out what the customer hates about the competitors, don’t do the same mistakes
